In this episode, I had the honor of interviewing Liberty University's Coach Kirk Handy.
Coach Handy is going into his 14th season coaching at Liberty University he has coached in 415 games with a record of 281 Wins 119 Losses and 15 Ties. Currently he serves as the Senior Director of Campus Recreation and Head Coach of the Men’s Hockey program. He was instrumental in the planning, development and building of the LaHaye Ice Center and the hockey programs. Handy is a graduate of Liberty in 1999, and played four years as a right winger for the flames hockey team. During his tenure as a player Handy was an assistant Captain and was named the ACCHL player of the year, and a scoring leader for the Flames for all 4 years he played.
Coach Handy has always had a passion and desire to see Liberty University continue to grow and develop in to the vision of Dr. Jerry Falwell. “I believe Liberty University is the greatest University in the world. My wife and I consider it a privilege to serve at Liberty and carry on the vision of Dr. Falwell to build Young Champions for Christ.” The native of Huntsville, Ontario, Canada is married to Jannie and the couple has four sons Parker, Preston, Pryce and Porter. |
