Description:

Paula JohnsonDavid Hinojosa, J.D.Classnotes Podcast (November 27, 2018) Communities and schools across the country are becoming more segregated across racial, ethnic and class lines. But many educators and advocates are looking for solutions to ensure schools are integrated. The  IDRA EAC-South is one of four federally-funded equity assistance centers that help school districts build capacity of educators to ensure a more equitable learning environment for all students. These centers have jointly created the Equity-Based Framework for Achieving Integrated Schooling to assist school districts considering, or actively pursuing, integrated schooling. In this episode, David Hinojosa, J.D., director of the IDRA EAC-South, and Paula Johnson, Ph.D., associate director of the IDRA EAC-South, give an overview of the framework and its three components of (1) inclusive, co-constructive planning; (2) school-based supports; and (3) outcome measures.
