Sac County Grand Jury
Have you ever been interested in investigating criminal indictments or complaints submitted by the public? How about providing oversight of the county, its cities, public schools and special district agencies? The Sacramento County Grand Jury is looking for you. Applicants are still being sought for new jurors to serve starting July 1, 2026 and running through June 30, 2027. Laurie Sopwith is the current Grand Jury Foreperson for Sacramento County and she joins us today to explain what happens during this year-long civic commitment.
EdSource Older Adults Finish College
There are over 6 million Californians who have attended some college but have yet to earn a degree. For these returning students, the path through higher ed can be long and challenging. We’ll talk to associate professor Jennifer Liberty, whose own graduation journey took 26 years, about the ways things can be made easier for adult learners.
