Center for Employment Opportunities
For the more than 6,000 people released from prisons each year, re-entering society is full of challenges, including facing stigmas and red tape when looking for stable housing and employment. An organization in Sacramento is connecting the formerly incarcerated to the resources they need to thrive on the outside. Carolyn Thomas is the Site Director for the Sacramento Center for Employment Opportunities and Sergio Maldonado is a participant in the program. We’ll learn more about how it works.
Peter Petty’s Yuletide Revue Celebrates 10 Years
Bandleader Peter Petty is celebrating 10 years of singing Sacramento through the holiday season. His annual big-band Yuletide revue “Hepcat’s Holla’Daze!” returns to the Crest Theater Saturday, Dec. 20th. He joins us in the studio today to share some tunes and talk about providing adults with a festive holiday experience just for themselves. |
