California is building more, so why do we have a housing crisis?
As the state of California continues to lose residents to other parts of the country, the rate of building new homes for people to live is on the rise. Yet we always hear that we have a housing crisis and need to do more to build now and build faster. New housing analysis by the Public Policy Institute of California (PPIC) shows that California may not have a shortage of homes after all. PPIC Senior Fellow, Hans Johnson, joins Insight to discuss the data of California’s population shift and how that’s impacted the housing market and availability of new homes.
