UC Davis Chancellor Gary May on the groundbreaking of Aggie Square in Sacramento, a billion-dollar STEM innovation hub which when complete promises tens of thousands of jobs and $5 billion annually to Sacramento’s six-county region. Aggie Square’s development also includes concerns of gentrification and displacement in neighboring historically underserved communities. A conversation with Oak Park residents Michael Benjamin II, Kiara Reed, who is also Executive Director of Civic Thread, & Transportation Working Group and lead for the Sacramento Investment Without Displacement Coalition and Caity Maple, who is Vice President of the Oak Park Neighborhood Association and candidate for Sacramento City Council District 5. Artist and muralist Jermaine Tilson, whose work is currently on display outside Golden 1 Center and is also part of Wide Open Walls, shares his journey of overcoming homelessness as a foster youth.
