Description: More than 100 attendees filled the Commune at the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs for the second Coachella Valley Storytellers Project event. 'And there I was': Stories of the surprising places we find ourselves was the theme for the evening of true, first-person storytelling. Storytellers Maggie Downs, Roberta Kay, Nathan Brown, Rick Marino, Ruth Nolan and Kurt Cyr each shared a story based on the theme. Storytellers is a project of the Desert Sun and UC Riverside - Palm Desert's graduate school program for creative writing and writing for the performing arts.
