The UK government has released a damning report on sex abuse in the foreign aid sector. The powerful report finds that abuse is "endemic" and that perpetrators are often able to move between countries and organizations freely. It also blames agencies for knowing about the problem but failing to act. Major global charities are implicated, and now say that they need to do better to protect those most vulnerable, the recipients of aid.
