Elizabeth Smart is opening up about why she believes Wanda Barzee, one of her kidnappers who is set to be released, is still a danger to the public. Smart spoke to Gayle King in her first interview since getting word of the release. Kidnapper Wanda Barzee was freed after Utah officials determined they miscalculated the 72-year-old's prison sentence. Barzee and Brian David Mitchell were convicted for their roles in Elizabeth Smart's abduction and captivity that lasted for nine months, beginning in 2002. In the interview Elizabeth Smart opens up about how her traumatic experience changed her. Smart says she believes Wanda Barzee being released from prison is still a "danger." |
