There has been a lot of talk in The Bridechilla Community of late about wedding planning with depression, stress, and anxiety. The conversation has been candid and I am so happy that we have a place where Bridechillas feel comfortable sharing their personal experiences. Pre-existing depression, anxiety, and stress don't just stop because you are engaged. We are so often told that we should just cheer up or that ‘you’’ be fine on the day’ when it comes to anxiety. and a surprising amount of Bridechillas feel experience anxiety and stress due to wedding planning. Expectations, family relationships, and work pressure, on top of the pressure we put on ourselves, can all add up. If you are nervous or worried about being the centre of attention or the focal point of your wedding day, if you are nervous about the pressure of maintaining tenuous family relationships during this period of your life or are worried about how to talk about stress, depression, and anxiety, then I know today’s episode will be super helpful. My returning guest, Dr Lindsay Bira is a clinical health psychologist functioning as a therapist, consultant and speaker in San Antonio, TX. We hope to reduce stigma related to mental illness and mental health treatments. Join the Bridechilla Community on Facebook.
