FARGO Logan Campbell is leaving WDAY-TV for a new job in North Carolina.
The sideline reporter for North Dakota State football and basketball broadcasts on the Fargo television station which, like The Forum, is owned by Forum Communications Co., has a new job as a sports anchor/reporter at WFMY-TV in Greensboro, N.C.
Campbell also co-hosted the Bison GameDay Pregame Show prior to NDSU football games with WDAY-TV's Dom Izzo, Forum sports writer Jeff Kolpack and former Bison player Kyle Emanuel. She also did news and feature reporting, anchoring and served as a substitute host on Izzo's "Hot Mic" show on WDAY Xtra.
Campbell, 26, came to WDAY in 2021 when Forum Communications was awarded the Bison television contract. She's from Herndon, Va., and graduated from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va.
"If you told me three years ago I'd be moving to Fargo, North Dakota, I would've thought you were insane," Campbell said. "Turns out it was the best decision I could've made for my career. I truly was able to do it all at WDAY. ... The opportunities my bosses gave me were endless."
Campbell broke the biggest local sports story of 2023, reporting that Bison football coach Matt Entz was leaving for an assistant coaching job at the University of Southern California.
She said in North Carolina she'll be covering the NFL's Carolina Panthers, the NHL's Carolina Hurricanes, NASCAR and Atlantic Coast Conference teams like North Carolina, Duke, Wake Forest and North Carolina State. Campbell will also cover other colleges and high school sports.
"I'm leaving Fargo 100 times more confident and thick-skinned than when I came here," Campbell said. "While the job was great, the people I met along the way is what made my time here. From everyone I worked with during my time here to the Bison fans who would come up to me during games, the people who live in North Dakota are truly unmatched and that is what makes leaving so bittersweet." ]]> |
