Description: North Dakota State's men's basketball team is one and done in Sioux Falls.

The fifth-seeded Bison lost to St. Thomas 68-58 Sunday night in at the Premier Center, ending their season with a 15-17 record. NDSU finished its year with three straight losses, all by double digits.

It was a befuddling end of the year for a team that during February, posted a 6-2 record and was seemingly poised to make a run for a Summit League title.

Instead, NDSU was blown out on the road by last place South Dakota, blown out at home by league champion South Dakota State and fell behind by 20 to a still transitioning St. Thomas team.

Head coach Dave Richman summed up the struggles of this season succintly after the game:

"I just told the guys I was just never able to quite just fully get my arms around this group and got to figure out ways to continue to get better. "

NDSU will see senior Boden Skunberg move on, Skunberg has indicated he will either transfer for his final season of eligibility or play professionally.

The Bison have three incoming freshmen in Andy Stefonowicz, Isaia Howard and Treysen Anderson, but there may be a major makeover of this roster coming.

NDSU's streak of five straight Summit League title games comes to an end and the Bison lose in the first round of the conference tournament for the first time since 2017.

WDAY's Dom Izzo and The Forum's Jeff Kolpack and Mike McFeely recap the loss and look ahead to what's next for the Bison basketball team.
