FARGO Former North Dakota State football standouts Brayden Thomas and Josh Babicz are heading to the NFL. Thomas, a defensive end and Bismarck native, agreed to sign as an undrafted free agent with the reigning Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams. Babicz, a tight end, agreed to sign as an undrafted free agent with the Carolina Panthers. Thomas played in 22 games for NDSU, finishing with 18 tackles for a loss and 10.5 sacks. He played in 13 games this past fall and led the Bison with 9 sacks, emerging as a top pass rusher for the Bison in his second season in the program. Babicz played in 55 games during his Bison career and was on three NCAA Division I FCS national championship teams.
