Description: FARGO - Maleeck Harden-Hayes is looking for a new school.

The former North Dakota State forward and Moorhead Spud announced on his Twitter account Thursday night "with the recent and sudden coaching staff change I have decided to de-commit from Kansas City and find the right program for me. My recruitment is 100% open!"

Harden-Hayes announced last week about his intentions to transfer from NDSU to Kansas City. He told WDAY Sports that "Kansas City was one of the first schools was calling me when I was in the portal. It just felt right in Kansas City. Coach (Billy) Donlon believes I can be a great player in the Summit League."

Earlier on Thursday, Donlon announced he was stepping down as Kansas City's head coach after three seasons leading the Roos. Several reports have Donlon joining his old boss Brad Brownell at Clemson. The two coached together at Wright State in the Horizon League. When Brownell left Wright State to take the Clemson job, Donlon was promoted to head coach at Wright State.

Donlon led Kansas City to a 19-12 record this season, including a sweep of NDSU.

Harden-Hayes announced on March 14th that he was entering the transfer portal and leaving NDSU after three years in Fargo.

The Moorhead High School graduate averaged 5.3 points and 3.1 rebounds per game for the Bison last season in 16.6 minutes per game. He played in 30 games, making one start.

Harden-Hayes wasn't the only transfer to leave a Summit League school for another. South Dakota guard Boogie Anderson also transferred to the Roos and announced Thursday night he too is entering the transfer portal.

Harden-Hayes has two years of eligibility remaining.
