Today, Caliendo continues his series on “Coaching Coaches” by focusing on Major League Baseball’s coaching and player development programs around the world. Joel Araujo joined Major League Baseball in 2008, working in various aspects of the league’s international baseball operations and is the founder of the Major League Baseball Amateur Prospect League which serves as a showcase for Dominican prospects looking to make their way into the big leagues. Also, Araujo established the annual MLB International Showcase to help clubs get their eyes on the market’s best international talent, and the Coach Development Program which trains coaches in Latin America in order to better develop talent in their home countries.
