Andre Lachance Baseball Canada’s Long Term Athletes Development program is the model around the world. Question, are we destroying more baseball development then producing and losing players in the game? In this episode we continue the discussion on the importance of the Long Term Athlete Development program which has proven to make better players and keep more players in the game. Canada competes with the USA and other top international countries, find out why. This discussed: The Canadian Long Term Athlete Development Progra, LTAD, has proven to be extremely effective and shown great results in more players playing the game and playing it better. As an organization, Coach, President of an Association and Parent are you willing to look at our competition process and make changes for the better. In winning at the young levels the best way to produce better players and keep them in the game longer? Kaiwzen, Japanese word for improvement is the foundation on the LTAD program. Change for the better. Key to the Japanese successful competition. Are we willing to look at other sports, countries on why they are successful at certain sports. Kids are not mini adults. Coaches education is critical to the development of proper programs and organizations. Continual educational programs for volunteer programs is a must to help grow and develop the sport. How we incentivize players is important. Praise efficiency rather then results. A competition structure where players are rewarded for what they are doing well in many aspects of the game. Looking closer on how we identify talent. And so much more to this episode.
