Another International Edition of Baseball Outside the Box/ISG Baseball takes us around the world to Sweden with Coach Tony Klarberg. Coach Klarberg helped start the Sweden Academy in 2006 and more advanced players from all over the country attend to train in all aspects of the game, go to school and more. They also travel to the USA for a tour of colleges to get exposure, play games and experience. Learn from Coaches all over the world. Discussion areas: History of Sweden baseball. Number of players, teams, levels and when they practice and play. Coaching programs to get players to play and also to keep them playing. Goals for players in Sweden. Are young players multi-sport athletes? Hockey is a big sport, does it help with baseball skills? Academy system, when it started, what are the goals and training systems? What changes has Sweden made throughout the years to advance the development of baseball? What they are doing with players during the Coronavirus delay? Academy tournaments, what do those look like? Others from Europe joined in to discuss their areas of development, from Germany, Czech Republic and more.
