Baseball Historian 79 The Great Ernie Banks, Mr Cub

Category: Health
Duration: 00:20:32

Description: Baseball Historian presents The Great Ernie Banks, Mr. CubĀ  whose career was from 1953 to 1971. He will always be "Mr. Cub," the most popular player the Cubs ever had. His sunny personality is legend, as is his refrain on a sunny day: "Let's play two!" The first black player on the Cubs, Banks came up as a shortstop, where he won consecutive MVP awards, but actually played more games at first base. He is also one of a handful of Hall of Famers never to get into postseason play. Please note: many of these broadcasts were originally preserved onto vinyl and are over 50 years old, so the audio quality does vary... but the historical significance & baseball action does not!
