Dr. Lauren Corman teaches classes in the area of Critical Animal Studies, which engages an intersectional approach to "the question of the animal." As such, Dr. Corman's interdisciplinary scholarship draws on animal rights/liberation, posthumanist, feminist, critical race, labour and environmental theories and practices. Much of her graduate work focuses on an analysis of Canadian and US slaughterhouses, with emphasis on the industrialized exploitation of pigs.
