The Austin Music Minute takes its cues from a multitude of musical explorations, including any recommendations from music artists themselves. For example: Your AMM host was already a fan of Austin four-piece Batty Jr. and their fantastic ways, but leave it to a quote from songwriting journeyman Shake Graves to multiply the butterflies in the cauldron of enthusiasm for Batty Jr.’s 6-song EP, From The Land Of Insofaras.
Alejandro Rose-Garcia nails it with his praises of the recordings’ irresistible lyrics, identity, melody and humor. “This album is so far up my alley I dont know what to do with myself,” he raves in a quote on the band’s Bandcamp – missing punctuation and all. And an affectionate jab toward Batty Jr.’s Zeke Jarmon – “Get off my lawn, Zeke.”
