Very rarely does Audio Gumshoe have the opportunity to feature an artist as smooth and refined as Mirenda Rosenberg. Her ability to belt out some heart-wrenching soul, followed by her silky jazz renderings, and topped with a bit of blues made her an easy choice for feature artist this episode. From her submission, I learned that Mirenda’s album was produced and engineered by Kevin Lowery and Allan Cooke at Eden Vella Studios, and mastered by Geoff Pesche at Abbey Road Studios, who has previously mastered albums for Gorillaz, Kylie Minogue and Basement Jaxx. The album launch is the culmination of a lifelong obsession with music and Mirenda is more than ready to embrace the next stage of her career. Opening the set on this episode is the radio edit of “Dangerous”. This song is the first that I heard from Mirenda. She took command of the song, telling a story about a girl that will take control and manipulate without batting an eye. I believe it! One of the smoothest jazz numbers from the album, Only Human, shares the feelings of a gal who only wants you to love her for who she is… not something you expect her to be.
