Description: May 26, 2022
The unraveling of family. When the final parent passes. There seems to be a shift in family leadership. Making the journey rough is when the children are physically from different makers. Yours mine and ours. My father from the second family made sure that each of his eight children were equally treated. Since his passing, that doesn’t seem to be holding. Invisible lines are keeping my father’s ambition at a distance. Like continents pushing away from each other. I’ve seen this in other families. As adults we are set in our own way. What we do in our adult homes may not be what you do in your adult home. When the transition of power materializes, the children change and you learn very quickly how your personal adult voice isn’t easily embraced. The lessons learned is to respect change as well as tradition. More importantly keep your family struggles out of a text. Human emotions are missing from the books we type.
