The Daily Mess Oh This Is A Mess

As far back as I remember I've always been confronted by those who interpret what I say and never truly listen to the message. Should we have to explain it? At what age is it accepted behavior? It took me six times to get my sister to understand a quote that came to me. I said, "Two words have been planted inside of me. Mindfulness versus moodiness." Her reply was, "That's three." I stopped, "It's two! Mindfulness versus moodiness." And again she responded with, "That's three not two." By the time I realized she was including the word versus, the reason for wanting to share the conversation had gone flat. Thoughts are like jokes. They need to be crafted. And yet there are so many people who enjoy putting words out there and no matter how odd they came into being. The point of view is accepted. When do the blank faces and dull responses evolve into unquestioned invitation? Experiencing this moment with my sister horrified the daily writer in me. I've got twenty eight years of thoughts handwritten in hardcovered journals. I fear she won't get beyond the first page.
