It was a Saturday when it happened. Our family had been running around non-stop all day working on the play we were producing. We had just survived a seven-hour rehearsal and we were exhausted. Clearing off the stage, we packed up the truck with a full load of set and props to take home. Upon arriving, we propped open the front door so we could move the furniture easily from the truck bed into the dining room and entry way. Once we finished unloading, we still had a few errands to run, and then, at last, we were done. I, for one, was looking forward to a chance to relax at the close of this hectic day. That was before we heard the news… |
