Description: In 1965 a young David Hoffman traveled from New York to the Appalachian mountains North Carolina to capture a story about Bascom Lamar Lunsford who was running a music festival in Ashville, NC for mountain music dancers and singers. The result became the first ever televised program about bluegrass music. In this episode David and I talk about the history of this film, Mr. Lunsford, and the historical significance of this film.
