Description: On this Theme Thursday Season Two webcast, Jim Collison, Gallup's Director of Talent Sourcing, and Maika Leibbrandt, Gallup Advanced Learning and Development Consultant discussed the theme of Focus. People exceptionally talented in the Focus theme can take a direction, follow through and make the corrections necessary to stay on track. They prioritize, then act. While others start to wander down divergent avenues, people with Focus stay on the main road. They have laser focus and can help others avoid time consuming distractions. Focus is an Executing theme, it gets things done by doing one thing at a time. Raw Focus is eating an elephant. Mature Focus is starting with the elephant’s right leg. Focus has such intense prioritization ability that sometimes it can only see the very end goal. If you’re looking down a pipe, Focus sees what’s at the very end of the pipe, without seeing everything to get there. Mature Focus looks at the milestones along the way and sees them as priorities, then acts, knowing it will get them to the end goal. Raw Focus can be frustrated with other people’s lack of focus.
