Myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS)
- Disease characterised by profound fatigue, sleep abnormalities, pain and other symptoms that are made worse by exertion. - Occurs more commonly in women. - Most common in people between 40 and 60 years old, the illness affects children, adolescents, and adults of all ages. - Cause of condition is unknown, but may include environmental or genetic factors. -People with ME/CFS may not look ill.
