Angelina and Damon continue their discussion on suicide, and talk about how we need to let go of responsibility for things that are out of our control, including what other people do and what has happened in the past. They discuss how we need to  focus instead on making changes in the present that give us a greater sense of control and autonomy. They say that whilst we may not have control over our initial thoughts or feelings, we do have a choice to first accept these feelings, and then change how we think about a situation or what we are doing in it. By learning how to say no, how to be assertive, and how to be kind and compassionate towards themselves, Angelina and Damon found that their frequency and intensity of suicidal ideation lessened in time. Maybe this can provide hope to others who are suffering too.
