By any measure Nova Scotia is leading the way with innovative approaches to climate change adaptation. In 2009 it created an action plan on climate change, which included measures to make the province more resilient to climate impacts.
One of these measures really caught our eye: the plan made provision for an adaptation fund to be created, providing funding for people to pitch ideas about how to make their communities more resilient.
In this episode of Acclimatise Conversations on Climate Change Adaptation, we speak with Jennifer Graham, adaptation specialist with the Nova Scotia's climate change team to find out more about the fund and how it has used small sums of money to have a big impact.
