Description:

Andy Dickens, the founder and CEO of Virtual Sales Limited, joined Mark on the Absolute Business Mindset podcast. According to Andy, a business mindset means having a product or service to offer and then knowing how to publicize and market it. He shared his experience with a lot of entrepreneurs who come up with great ideas but don’t know how to take them from concept to reality. They discussed sales and how to build a successful sales process. Andy shared tips on how to engage potential customers and build relationships with them. He also provided advice on how to create a sales process that works for every business. Finally, Mark asked Andy a specific question about his own business, which Andy was able to answer. In conclusion, the podcast was a great source of advice for entrepreneurs looking to start and grow their business.  This conversation looks at the importance of sales for entrepreneurs. The speaker notes that many entrepreneurs are not salespeople but need to understand and employ sales channels to grow their businesses. He suggests that although some entrepreneurs may naturally turn to sales, others may feel overwhelmed and not know where to start. The speaker also reflects on his own upbringing and how it has impacted who he is today. He believes that his upbringing has taught him how to be a better listener, be more resilient, and appreciate the value of hard work.  The speaker shares how he got into sales after initially not having any interest in the field. He studied Business Studies at Loughborough University and was then offered a job as a sales engineer with a company called Data Recall. From there, he asked to move into sales and was given a shot as a rookie and was successful in his first three months. He then became the top selling sales guy in the UK's premier postcode. The speaker also shares that he believes his degree in Business Studies helped him to understand customers' pain points and assign them to the service or product he was offering. He also shares enjoying the closing process of sales and using silence as a powerful tool in the process. Finally, he shares his experiences of moving from sales roles into director of sales roles, where he was responsible for managing a sales team and hitting targets.
