The host introduces Kevin Whelan, the founder of Wealth Builders. They discuss the new program that Kevin is running, which is focused on providing families with financial literacy and financial management skills. Kevin is developing a program to help teach financial literacy. He wants to give children of all ages the knowledge and guidance they need to become financially responsible and not fall prey to the plans of businesses. His program will give the tinies, kids up to eight years old, the basics of understanding financial responsibility. The Indies, kids finding their own feet, will get more in-depth instruction, and the Flyers, those about to leave the nest, will receive guidance and advice that their parents and the school system may not have been able to provide.
The conversation revolves around the lack of financial education in the education system. The speaker believes that the education system is created by academics and educators who have the safest pensions and the least knowledge about creativity, finances, entrepreneurship, business and wealth creation. Additionally, the government has a lack of willingness to change the curriculum, as it would require teaching the teachers.
The speaker is then creating a program called Wealth Builders for Families, which aims to revolutionise money education in the country, teaching people of all ages how to be a fantastic money role model for their children. The responsibility to be the best influencer of our children when it comes to money lies with us as parents. We can show them how to be role models in what we say, share, and the games we play. As adults, we need to be aware of the things we didn't learn ourselves, such as company cars and emergency taxes, in order to share the appropriate lessons with our children. We can teach children of all ages the value of giving, sharing, spending and deferring gratification. To be a great teacher, one must learn more, and often parents don't know enough since they didn't have role models. It's time to look back and think of the lessons we wish we had. Wealth builders is a program that creates a community of enlightened parents, and a family charter is created with a set of values such as being open-minded, sharing knowledge, and taking accountability and responsibility. 0:03:32 Conversation on Financial Literacy Program for Children 0:05:22 "Exploring the Lack of Financial Education in the UK Education System" 0:08:02 "The Role of Parents in Teaching Financial Literacy to Children" 0:11:44 Conversation on Teaching Children Financial Responsibility 0:13:57 Financial Responsibility for Children: Ideas for Teaching Kids About Money 0:18:32"Teaching Children Responsibility and Money Management" 0:22:28 "The Importance of Teaching Financial Responsibility to Children" 0:25:55 Exploring the Benefits of Financial Education for Families 0:28:08 Exploring the Benefits of Entrepreneurship and the Challenges of the Educational System 0:34:14 "Exploring Different Career Paths: A Discussion on Becoming Wealthy" 0:36:37 "Exploring the Benefits of Wealth Building for Families" 0:37:45 Exploring the Benefits of Teaching Kids About Money Management 0:46:04 "The Value of Education and Diversification for Financial Security" 0:48:26 "The Benefits of Action-Oriented Learning for Children" 0:49:55 Exploring Strategies for Supporting Teenagers During the Transition to Adulthood 0:51:50 "Creating Financial Responsibility in the Family: A Discussion with Mark Bower" 0:57:27 "Creating a Loving and Grounded Family Environment for Children" 1:01:15 "Exploring the Benefits of Financial Education for Families with Wealth Builder Scott" Support the show |
