This interview first aired on Friday the 14th of March, 2025 on ONE FM 98.5 Shepparton.
One FM Breakfast announcer Plemo talks to folk trio Angelus, (Emma, Julie and Lou) ahead of their performance at the Festival of Small Halls in Numurkah next Thursday.
Angelus evolved in late 2024 when cellist Emma King joined local folk duo Julie Price and Lou Costa to create a new group greater than the sum of its parts.
Emma adapted her classical training, transforming Julie and Lou’s music to create a more rich and complex sound that features ear-worm melodies, clever harmonies, keys, strings and the odd kazoo solo.
With a mix of originals and refurbished covers, Angelus trio tell the stories of life, wrapped in an honesty that compels their audience with every song.
Julie, Louise and Emma all live and play in central Victoria.
