Description: Dr Matthew Green takes us on a whirlwind tour, time travelling back through the history of London recorded live at Wilton's Music Hall for 5x15. We will step back in time and visit a bear baiting arena amidst the marshes and brothels of Shakespearean Bankside. Tracking further back in time, we will circumnavigate the city walls of medieval London as the city broods under the nightly curfew and visit an anchoress, willingly walled up for life into a tiny, suffocating cell attached to a Cornhill Church.
