- Apple stock movement: A short history lesson | The Tech Block
Apple has a history of seeing its stock make significant moves to the upside, followed by significant corrections or retracements to the downside. In this article, I try and prove that what Apple is going through is not uncommon. And that the recent “gloom and doom” headlines are not something you should pay attention to.
- inessential.com: Ack-ack
I might argue it’s a matter of collateral damage. I don’t know how I could tell Amazon’s harmless, happy-day drones from Google’s real-time people-watchers — or those of the police or the NSA. It’s best to shoot them all down.

- KitKat claims 1.1 percent of Android device share a month after launch
KitKat may be the new kid on the Android block, but it's already faring quite well. Google's latest OS dashboard reveals that 1.1 percent of active Android devices are running the new platform roughly a month after it became available. Not that its arrival is slowing down Jelly Bean's growth, mind you. The older software now represents 54.5 percent of all Android use, thanks in part to a two-point surge in devices running Android 4.3. However well Jelly Bean is doing, we expect KitKat adoption to rise quickly -- both the Nexus 5 and the first official KitKat upgrades have only been around for a few weeks at most, and there are more updates on the way.

- Apple Gets Full Twitter Firehose With Topsy Acquisition - John Paczkowski - News - AllThingsD
Apple has acquired Topsy Labs, a social media analysis firm specializing in charting Twitter trends. Price: Somewhere north of $200 million. Topsy, one of handful of companies with access to Twitter’s full “firehose” of tweets, recently unveiled a search engine capable of searching through the 425 billion or so tweets published to Twitter since the company’s debut in 2006. It’s not yet clear how Apple plans to use Topsy.

- Amazon’s Drones Might Work, but Would Cost $200 Per Package | MIT Technology Review
Amazon’s plans to deliver packages by drones, which it predicts “will be as normal as seeing mail trucks on the road today,” has been widely dismissed as little more than clever self-promotion.
