WannaCry, Gonna Cry: Cybersecurity In The Face Of Ransomware

Category: News & Politics
Duration:
Publish Date: 2017-05-16 15:54:00
Description: It seems the malicious software known as WannaCry — which was unleashed on hospitals, individuals and a host of others last week — originated as an NSA tool that exploited a flaw in older Windows software. This wasn't the first attack of its kind, and it's highly unlikely to be the last. When these tools are being developed by governments and criminals alike, how should we protect ourselves, or should we start saving bitcoin in preparation for the inevitable? Discussing cybersecurity is Laura Galante, former director of global intelligence at FireEye, Michael Greenberger, founder and director of University of Maryland Center for Health and Homeland Security and Richard Clarke, a former counterterrorism official and currently a consultant for ABC News. We'll also talk to NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar about his 50-year relationship with his coach, John Wooden, and how Wooden shaped his life and career.
