Description:

At the peak of the pandemic, the world's attention was grabbed by a video from Minneapolis, the footage of police officer Derek Chauvin putting his knee to the back of George Floyd's neck for 9 minutes and 29 seconds.

The horrific video triggered protests against police brutality around the world.  Eleven months later, a jury convicted Derek Chauvin of murder.

On this week's episode, we look at the events around New York City after the death of George Floyd, and we discuss the future of policing in the city after the verdict.

This week's first guest is Eric Adams, the current Brooklyn Borough President who is also running for mayor. Before taking a role in politics, Adams was an NYPD Officer rising to the rank of captain before he retired.

We'll also hear from Jumaane Williams, The New York City Public Advocate and a longtime voice for police reform and an accountability structure in the city surrounding police.
