	Description:		Marion Nestle has devoted her career to educating the public about how the food industry influences our society and personal health, serving as the Paulette Goddard Professor of Nutrition, Food Studies, and Public Health at New York University as well as a professor of Sociology and a visiting professor of Nutritional Sciences at Cornell University. I had the honor of speaking with Marion and learning more about her take on the meat industry in the U.S. We discuss everything from the role of the meat lobby to how advertising influences what consumers consider “healthy” food, but this isn’t just a conversation focused on the problems at hand. She also offers very practical advice for anyone who is fed up with government subsidies for cheap, unhealthy food. Being an expert in nutrition, she also debunks some myths about what is considered a “healthy diet” and sums up how to eat well in one sentence.
