In the early 2000s, he worked with the Humane Society of the United States to manage their investments into the plant-based food industry and played a key role in helping Daiya cheese secure distribution in Whole Foods Market. With New Crop Capital, Chris is helping some of the top brands that we know and love through investment funding as well as mentorship, all with the goal of advancing plant-based food and reshaping the food system. Chris now serves as the investment manager for New Crop Capital, a specialized private venture capital fund that invests in entrepreneurs whose products or services replace foods derived from conventional animal agriculture. In this episode, he shares more about his background in the investment world and tips he has for entrepreneurs on how to spot an opportunity in the market and grow a successful, sustainable business.
