Vocabulary

Balanced - What does balanced mean?
Balanced means having different elements in the correct proportions.
Example: I try to eat a balanced diet.

Under control - What does under control mean?
Under control means manageable: restrained and controlled; not out of control.
Example: You don’t need to work late tonight. Everything is under control.

Develop - What does develop mean?
Develop means to gain a skill; progress with training; to cause to grow or expand.
Example: To develop perfect pitch you need to study music from a young age.

Habit - What is a habit?
A habit is a recurrent, often unconscious pattern of behaviour that is acquired through frequent repetition.
Example: Developing a new habit takes time.

Awareness - What does awareness mean?
Awareness means having knowledge or perception of a situation or fact.
Example: My awareness is increasing the more I mediate.

Deal with - What does deal with mean?
Deal with means to take action on something, usually a problem.
Example: As we get older with have to deal with more and more problems.

Patience - What is patience?
Patience is the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, problems, or suffering without becoming annoyed or anxious.
Example: My wife has incredible patience. She never gets angry or upset, even with big problems.

Complicated - What does complicated mean?
Complicated means complex: not easy, hard to deal with.
Example: Gun control in America is a complicated problem.

Questions to Think About

Is you life balanced right now? Are you happy with the way things are? If you are not happy, what would you like to change?

Do you worry about the future? Do you sometimes live in the past? Try to be more aware and focus on what is happening in your life now.

Are you a creative person? How could you be more creative at work or at school?

Are you patient or impatient? Do you get angry or upset quickly? When are you impatient?

Would you like to simplify your life? What things could you stop doing to make life easier for you?
