Nick:You mean...“I need to build my vocabulary.” 今回のミステイク “I need to learn more vocabularies.” Vocabularies の勘違い説明 ‘Vocabulary’を複数形にして ‘Vocabularies’と言ってしまう人は多いですが、この単語は不可算名詞ですので、複数形も‘Vocabulary’です。日本語には馴染みのない可算/不可算名詞。数えられると思う物も英語では数えられない名詞だったりします。新しい名詞の単語を覚えるときは、数えられるのか、数えられないのかを必ずチェックしましょう。 ‘Vocabulary’と一緒によく使われる動詞には、‘Learn’や ‘Build’がありますが、「増やす」ニュアンスを持った‘Build’が使われる事が多いです。例文 1.I learn ten new words a day to build my vocabulary. アッテル英会話 Nick: How is your English study going Kaoru?
