Description: New Zealanders being treated for upper gut cancers such as pancreatic, stomach or liver cancer, can now access a dedicated support service. Almost 2,500 people are told every year they have one of these cancers and many of them have among the lowest survival rates.The treatment pathways are described as complex, but now the Gut Cancer foundation is developing a support service in partnership with Australia's Pancare Foundation. People have described feeling alone during treatment and the new service is designed to provide specific support in relations to these cancers. Kathryn speaks to Roselyn Storey is one of those who have had surgery for pancreatic cancer and Liam Willis the Executive Officer of the Gut Foundation.
