	Description:		One of New Zealand's first ever television stars has died aged 86. Max Cryer spoke the first words on nationwide TV in 1969, and went on to produce shows the shows Mastermind and University Challenge. He was a singer, broadcaster, producer, and a journalist - and a powerhouse of the New Zealand entertainment industry. The host and producer of the first live talk-variety show in 1975 he was also the country's first TV quizmaster on the show Top Mark. His close friend, David Hartnell remembers his great love of showbiz.
