Chalmers has argued that there needs to be focus on the long-term sustainability of the scheme and future changes to the system need to be compatible with its objective. Chalmers also denounced 'disastrous' policy proposals, namely the decision to withdraw billions of dollars from the superannuation fund during the Covid-19 pandemic.
