Description:

Don starts the show with a report that the Department of Justice under former President Donald Trump subpoenaed Apple for data from accounts of House Intelligence Committee Democrats, including Chairman Adam Schiff, along with their staff and family members. Prosecutors were looking for sources behind news stories about contacts between Russia and Trump associates.

California Rep. Eric Swalwell, whose data was also subpoenaed, joins Don to share his perspective, and to explain that Trump used the power of government to go after his perceived political opponents. CNN Chief Political Analyst Gloria Borger also joins to explain why this effort was “the worst abuse of power we have seen from Donald Trump,” and tells us the remaining questions that need to be answered so this situation doesn’t happen again.

Pennsylvania Lt. Governor John Fetterman recently wrote an op-ed on CNN.com calling for Sen. Joe Manchin to step up and vote for the For The People Act. He joins to discuss the importance of the act, and why Senate Democrats need to reform the filibuster. An Ohio doctor attended a Ohio hearing and falsely claimed that COVID-19 vaccines cause people to become magnetic. CNN Medical Analyst Dr. Jonathan Reiner explains why the Ohio doctor poses a danger to public health.

Illinois Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi joins and explains why we need accountability and a full investigation into the specifics of the subpoenas for data from House Intelligence Committee Democrats. Later, CNN Senior Political Analyst John Avalon joins to discuss what he thinks the Biden DOJ should do after this discovery, and CNN Political Commentator Amanda Carpenter joins to explain Trump’s repeated calls for investigations in order to manufacture political dirt.

Tonight was the third New York City Democratic mayoral debate which featured continued questioning over candidate Eric Adams’ NYC residency and questions on police presence in the city. Correspondent Alexandra Field brings the report, and CNN Political Commentator Errol Louis joins to discuss the debate and explain why the candidates’ questioning over Adams’ residency comes as he is ahead in the polls.

Finally, an Arkansas state trooper is being sued for allegedly causing a pregnant woman’s car to flip during a traffic stop. CNN Correspondent Amara Walker brings the report, and Missouri State Highway Patrol Captain Ron Johnson shares his perspective on the event and discusses the need for properly training officers to perform safe and effective PIT maneuvers.
