Today, Juneteenth became a national holiday. Don starts the show by discussing the historic event, and then reflects upon how Republicans are whitewashing racism by banning critical race theory in schools. Author of the book “On Juneteenth” Annette Gordon-Reed attended President Biden’s signage of the bill which made Juneteenth a holiday, and she joins Don to discuss the event and her reaction to the 14 Republicans who voted against making Juneteenth National Independence Day a holiday. 

Former Chief Strategist for George W. Bush Matthew Dowd discusses whether Biden can use bipartisanship to push forward his agenda. Then, CNN Legal Analyst Laura Coates joins to discuss recent Supreme Court rulings on Obamacare and religious freedom where the justices seemed to cross party lines. 

Former Campaign Manager for Former President Obama, Jim Messina and CNN Political Commentator Charlie Dent discuss Rep. Joe Manchin’s compromise on the voting rights bill and Putin’s recent comments after his meeting with Biden.
