Louisiana has the highest rate of new Covid-19 cases per day of any state. It has the fifth worse vaccination rate in the country and is also near the top of the list when it comes to hospitalizations. Don interviews patients at Baton Rouge General Hospital who have become infected with Covid-19 and who have also not been vaccinated, a common concern being how rapidly they perceived the speed of the vaccine’s development. Could this be a sign of what is to come in other parts of the country if people don't get vaccinated or wear masks? CNN’s Mitch Landrieu and Dr. Jonathan Reiner join to give their perspectives.

The 2020 census is out and shows the white population in the U.S. is shrinking for the first time in the country's history, declining 8.6% from 2010, down to 57.8%. Bakari Sellers and Ana Navarro join to discuss the resurgence of the extreme white nationalist conspiracy theory that there is an attempt to replace white Americans and whether these new numbers only re-enforce their sense of being under attack.

Misinformation on the effectiveness of wearing masks, especially for protecting school children from the effects of Covid-19 is driving the country apart, leaving some Americans to threaten other parents, with one particular school board meeting in Tennessee attracting national attention. Michael Miller, who had to be escorted from the meeting by the Police for his own safety after expressing support for a mask mandate in his child’s school, joins to discuss the ordeal.

Finally, The U.S. is sending 3,000 troops to Afghanistan to Kabul in response to the Taliban's rapid gains across the country with the fear being that Kabul itself could soon fall. Political Analyst Susan Glasser joins to discuss how the situation in Afghanistan unraveled so rapidly.
