The FDA has given full approval to the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine for people who are aged 16 and older. Over 80 million eligible people are still unvaccinated with many citing lack of official approval as a reason. Dr Peter Hotez joins to discuss the impact this development could have in the face of continuing misinformation from anti-vaccine groups and right-wing political extremists.

President Biden is considering extending his deadline for removing all U.S. troops from Afghanistan, which is now just eight days away. Some are advising the President against staying longer, citing potential terror threats with the Taliban threatening consequences if the U.S delays withdrawal beyond August 31.
