Description: Some Aucklanders are worried that the government's proposal to ease alcohol restrictions will harm some of the poorest and most vulnerable communities. It is estimated that alcohol harm currently costs the country $9.1 billion a year. The proposed changes to the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act- which were announced today - include loosening alcohol restrictions with fewer hurdles for bars and bottle stores. Ministers will also be able to declare one-off special trading hours for pubs screening major sport or cultural events. Lucy Xia reports.
