Introducing Jon Tamihere-Kemeys
Do the leaders of your organisation truly have faith that your planned strategies are going to succeed?
We spend a lot of time and energy on strategy processes and strategic plans, on trying to figure out where we want to go and how we are going to get there. But we really need to believe in these plans in order to move forward.
Today’s guest, Jon Tamihere-Kemeys, is someone who can help to illuminate why so many people have so little faith in these processes being successful. Here at Business Lab, JT has been helping us to get our heads around some of these more challenging aspects of our upcoming projects and his insight and perspective has been invaluable to us.
So, in this episode we focus on how to approach the concept of transformation. If you're in an organization that is maybe a little bit stuck or lacking direction, or things don't seem to be living up to their potential… don't start with ‘why’!
Start with ‘who’. Who are we as a collective? Who are we as an organisation?
From there, the kinds of breakthroughs that you're looking for are much more likely.
In today’s episode you’ll learn:
- The importance of knowing your ‘why’ and growing that beyond something that’s just on paper.
- Why it’s pivotal to tackle the question of ‘who’ you are in order to show up in that fully - both as an organisation and as an individual.
- How strategy is about perception: taking a close look at distant things, and a distant look at close things.
- How, when you are transforming an organisation strategically, it’s often hardest to gain perspective yourself if you are a sole representative.
