What is Spirituality, exactly?

And, are you aching for more of it? Here’s the thing: Sometimes we find our Spirituality through some deep pain. But before we find the “gift in the pain,” we have to face the pain in the gift.

What does it mean to be truly Spiritual, and how can we infuse our lives with more Love, authenticity, and Heart Centered purpose? I have some thoughts…

It starts with the Heart. 

In this Spiritual session, aka Podcast Episode #86, I give you my take on: 

  • Spirituality: The practice of thinking with your heart.The Soul works on behalf of Divine Love. It is always pulling us toward our True Nature.
  • Spiritual Bypassing: Where you put a spiritual spin on a “negative” experience to avoid uncomfortable feelings. “Non spiritual” feelings…
  • Spiritual Glamor: When you combine spirituality practice with the ego’s need to be different and “special”. For example: when one regards their spiritual experience as a qualification for special treatment, or how some folks always find a way to insert their esoteric resume into the conversation…
  • Conscience: You’ve got one, everyone’s got one…  Light Guilt + Shadow Guilt. There’s useful guilt and drag-you-down guilt. 
  • And, Detachment: Less clinging. More trusting. 

We also get into how the ego thrives on ranking systems and the illusion of being more evolved. How we can learn to recognize and transcend the divisive nature of these beliefs. We take a look at the healthy guilt that guides us to make amends to the shadow guilt that holds us back.

But mostly, how it all leads back to… Love. Learn to Love and forgive even the parts of yourself that are hard to accept.

It’s deep, it’s Spiritual, it’s everything I’ve got.
